At Wag and Bone HQ we’ve recently moved into a new house. It’s actually our first ever house, which is exciting, but our immediate thought was not “time to unpack some boxes”, but “OMG must get some cute doggy art up on the walls ASAP!”  Yep decorating a new place is super fun, and we would love nothing more than to cover our walls with doggy pics!

But seriously, there are some amazing illustrators in the UK and some of them specialise in glorious and characterful dog art, so we thought we would make a short list of some of our favs. Some of these illustrators also can be commissioned to do doggy portraits. So if you have a pooch that is willing to pose (for a photograph) then check these out. Rupert is very keen, as he does love to strike a pose (laying down, in a bed, with one eye open).

I Am John Bond

John Bond is from down south, just like Wag and Bone and he is an award-winning illustrator. We first discovered him at the launch of Ohh Deer as John’s illustrations were big part of their launch range. Oh how we love John Bond’s style and his many dog illustrations, some of which you may recognise. Check out his Best in Show series as well Dog Breeds. He does draw a magnificent Sausage!

Lorna Scobie

Lornie Scobie is an illustrator who specialises in children’s books and media. Her website is brimming with examples of her colourful, curious style and it’s very clear that she loves the natural world. You can spend a good long while just exploring her website and etsy shop. We love her dogs especially (and if you love cats, she has drawn 30 of them!).  Lorna also does pet portraits.

And Smile Studio

Illustrator Viktorija is the owner of And Smile Studio. We have admired her style for years and love watching her painting videos on Instagram stories. #addicted

While Viktorija mostly paints hoomans, one of our favourite prints by her is one called Dog Lovers. This is certainly one for us! Viktorija also does portraits and we would love to get one of us posing with our Ru.
